STEP BY STEP

You'll have someone to call when you're unsure what comes next.

We work with all major insurance carriers. We'll explain each step as it comes, and we'll tell you honestly if we think a claim isn't worth filing.

  1. Start with an inspection

We take a close look at the affected areas and show you what we find. We'll explain the condition of your home and discuss repair options so you can make an informed decision.

  2. Decide whether to file

Not every bit of damage is worth a claim. With the inspection in hand, you'll know what you're dealing with before you call your carrier.

  3. Document the work needed

If you choose to file a claim, we can meet with your adjuster to review the damage and provide photos, measurements, and repair estimates. If construction items appear to be missing from the scope, we'll document those concerns.

  4. Review the scope together

Before work begins, we go over the agreed scope, materials, payment terms, and what to expect, so there are no surprises.

  5. Put your home back together

We coordinate the repairs across every part of the home that was affected and keep you updated as the project moves forward.

  6. Wrap up

We walk the finished work with you and provide the paperwork your carrier needs to close out the claim.

AFTER A STORM

A few things that help, and a few to avoid.

Do

  • Take photos of interior damage and anything on the ground: shingles, hail, broken branches.
  • Call us for a tarp if water is coming in. There's no upfront cost, and it's usually covered by the claim.
  • Keep receipts for anything you spend to prevent further damage; carriers usually reimburse them.
  • Ask your carrier for a copy of the full adjuster report, not just the summary.

Don't

  • Don't sign anything from a door-knocker the day of the storm.
  • Don't let a contractor pressure you into a contract before you've seen their documentation and talked to your carrier.
  • Don't make permanent repairs before the adjuster has seen the damage.
  • Don't assume no leak means no damage. Hail bruising shortens a roof's life without leaking right away.

QUESTIONS

Insurance questions we hear every week

How does the insurance process work?

We start with an inspection and show you what we find. If you decide to file a claim, you call your carrier to open it, and we can provide photos, measurements and repair estimates and meet your adjuster to review the damage. Once the scope is agreed, we review it with you, then coordinate the repairs and keep you updated.

Should I call my insurance company or you first?

You're welcome to call us first. An inspection tells you what you're dealing with, so you have a clear picture before you decide whether to file.

Do you work with my insurance company?

We work with all major insurance carriers. We help with the construction side of the claim: the inspection, the photos, the estimates, and answering questions about the work your home needs.

What if something was missed in my claim?

If construction items appear to be missing from the scope, we document those concerns with photos and measurements so you can bring them to your carrier. If the scope is right, we'll tell you that too.
